our cabin sleeps six persons comfortably

Nights in the Ozark Mountains are wonderful. Few mosquitoes and other biting insects will bother you. Instead you'll enjoy the sounds of night under a horizon-to-horizon blanket of stars. And when the moon is out, you'll definitely want to be outside. That is why I built such large decks on three sides of both my units. Brinkman Smokin' BBQ grills, a meat smoker, picnic tables, and lawn chairs make evening cookouts comfortable on the 978 square feet of deck space.

The logs I used are native aromatic red cedar milled right here in the Ozarks. My daughter and I set these logs in place and nailed them in one at a time. All of my decks are built to demanding Canadian standards. Like my cabin walls, my decks are super-strong. As you can see here, I hate to cut down trees!

Good insulation keeps the cabin warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. All it takes to keep summer heat and humidity at bay is a window air conditioning unit in the bedroom, and a hotel style heating/cooling unit in the living room. Winter chills are chased off by electric heat with LP gas heat backup. Ceiling fans circulate room air all year.
